Defining disposal plans

Define disposal plans to specify how and when waste is disposed, including disposal methods, responsible parties, and target dates.

About this task

The Disposal Plan tab contains information about planned waste disposal activities. You can specify disposal methods, locations, dates, and whether third-party vendors are involved in the disposal process.

Procedure

  1. From the Waste Management application, open a waste management record or create a new record.
  2. Click the Disposal Plan tab.
  3. In the Expected Disposal Date field, enter the planned date for waste disposal.
  4. Optional: In the Limit Disposal Date field, enter the date by which waste must be disposed of.
This date is driven by regulatory requirements or storage limitations.
  5. Optional: In the Storage Location field, specify the location where waste is stored.
  6. In the Disposal Location field, specify the location where waste is disposed.
  7. In the Action Taken field, select the disposal method from the lookup.
Available disposal methods include recycle, reuse, incinerate, vendor disposal, and special disposal.
  8. Optional: In the Action Taken Details field, enter additional information about the disposal method.
  9. Optional: In the Requestor field, select the person who requested the waste disposal.
  10. In the Disposal By field, select the person responsible for waste disposal.
  11. Optional: In the Disposal Address Information section, specify the disposal address:
    1. In the Service Address field, select a service address record.
The address fields are automatically populated with information from the selected service address.
    2. Modify the Formatted Address, Street Address, City, or State/Province fields as needed.
Changes to address fields are saved locally with the waste management record and do not affect the service address record.
  12. Select the Third Party checkbox if a third-party vendor performs the disposal.
    The Company field becomes editable.
  13. If you selected the Third Party checkbox, in the Company field, select the disposal company.
If you clear the Third Party checkbox, the Company field becomes optional.
  14. Save the record.

Results

The disposal plan is saved and can be used to track and run the waste disposal activities.
