Revising regulations

You can apply revision control to regulations. When you revise a regulation, a record of the changes is saved.

About this task

You can enable or disable revision control by using the System Settings action in the Organizations application.

You can revise regulations that are in active status only. When you revise a regulation, the regulation record is duplicated with the same name, and the revision number incremented by 1. The original regulation is assigned a status of REVISED and can no longer be changed. The revised regulation is assigned a status of PNDREV until it is either activated or canceled.

After you activate or cancel a revised regulation, you cannot delete it.

Procedure

  1. In the Regulatory Compliance application, select the regulation that you want to revise.
  2. Select the Revise Regulation action.
  3. Enter a description for the revised regulation, and click OK.
    The revised regulation has a status of pending revision. The original regulation remains in active status.
  4. Update the revised regulation.
  5. After all changes are completed, change the revised regulation to active status.
    The original regulation automatically changes to revised status and it can no longer be changed.
  6. Save the revised regulation.
