Creating log books
A log book facilitates the organization of shift logs. Personnel who are taking over from an earlier work shift can review the progression of events and be aware of the possible need for action. Log books contain shift logs, log entries, and calendar entries.
Before you begin
About this task
You can add shift logs to a log book only when the status of the log book is Active.
Procedure
- In the Log Book application, on the toolbar, click New Log Book.
- Specify the start and finish dates for the log book.
- Optional: Specify the calendar and shift combination that applies to the log book.
- Save the log book, and change the status of the log book to Active.
- Click Select Shift Log.
- From the Select Shift Log dialog box, select one or more shift logs to include in this log book, and click OK.
- From the Shift Log table of the Log Book tab, select one or more shift logs, and click Refresh to review the log entries that were added for each selected shift log. You can access the Operator Log application from each log entry to add more log entries, and apply them to the log book.
