Status of log books

Log books can have a status of Draft, Active, Inactive, or Closed.

Status About this status
DRAFT The log book is being developed or reviewed. This status is the default status of a new log book. You can change the log book record. You can delete the log book record if it is not associated with other records. You can change a log book record that is in a Draft status to Active, to Closed, or to Inactive status.
ACTIVE The log book is accessible from other records and applications. You can change some fields on the log book record. You can add shift logs to the log book record. You cannot delete the log book record. You can change a log book record that is in an Active status to Draft, Closed, or to Inactive status.
INACTIVE The log book is not accessible from other records. You cannot change the log book record. You can delete the log book record if it is not associated with any log entries. You can change a log book record that is in Inactive status back to Active, Closed, or to Draft status.
CLOSED The log book is not accessible from other records. You cannot change the log book record. You can delete the log book record if it is not associated with any log entries. You can change a log book record that is in Inactive status back to Active, Draft, or to Inactive status.
