In the Incidents application, you can use the Incident Events tab to capture information about multiple events that relate to a single incident.

Some incidents consist of multiple events, people, injuries, and outcomes. Incident events are captured based on the following structure:

Each incident can have one or more incident events.
Each incident can have one or more impacted people.
Each impacted person can have one or more injuries or illnesses, and you can specify which injuries or illnesses are reportable.
Each injury or illness can have one or more outcomes. If you add multiple outcomes, you can assign one outcome as the most serious outcome for the incident.

For example, a tractor trailer that is carrying a load of diesel fuel is involved in an accident with a car on the highway. Both the trailer and the car are damaged, and the load of diesel is spilled on the highway. The truck driver fractures right leg, dislocates left shoulder, and requires stitches in forehead. Due to injuries, the truck driver is out of work for 3 months, and following return to work, is on restricted duty for 3 months. The driver of the car is also injured.

In this example, the incident includes property damage, environmental damage, multiple people with multiple injuries, and multiple outcomes for each injury. To capture all of the information in this example, you create an incident record for the highway accident. Then, create incident events for each of the events that are related to the accident.
