Access permit status values
Access permits have a status, such as active or suspended. Access permit application processes often do different actions on records according to their status values.

| REQUEST | Requested. Newly created access permit. You can change a record with a requested status to draft status in preparation for review and approval, or to closed status. |
| DRAFT | Draft. The access permit is being developed or reviewed before it is issued. The record is not available to other records and applications. You can change the record. You can delete the record if it is not associated with other dependent records. You can change a record with a draft status to issued or closed. |
| ISSUED | Issued. The access permit is issued by the issuing authority. The access permit must be accepted by the person who is responsible for the task. You can change a record with an issued status to active. |
| ACTIVE | Active. The access permit is approved and is active. The access permit is available to other records and applications. You can change a record with an active status to suspended or to canceled. You can extend the duration of an access permit that is in active status. |
| SUSPEND | Suspended. You can suspend an active access permit. If you suspend an access permit, you cannot associate it with other records. You can change a record with a suspended status to issued or to canceled. |
| CANCELED | Canceled. You can cancel an active or suspended access permit. The access permit can be reviewed and audited before the record is closed. You can change a record with a canceled status to closed. |
| CLOSED | Closed. You can close an access permit that is in request, draft, or canceled status. All isolations that are in place must be removed before you can close an access permit. You cannot delete the record. |
