Activating the destination site after a failure of the main site

Activate your destination site when the main site fails your IBM QRadar deployment. When you activate the destination site, Ariel data synchronization and all Ariel copy profiles are disabled on the main site but no services are suppressed.

Procedure

  1. On the destination QRadar Console, click Admin > Data Synchronization app.
  2. Open the left slide-out menu and select Diaster recovery dashboard, and verify the system readiness status before you initiate Failover operation.
  3. You can initiate the Failover operation in two ways:
    • You can select Activate destination Site from the dashboard to start the Failover operation.
    • You can open the left slide-out menu and select Activate destination Site to initiate Failover. This option can be used if users need to proceed with Failover operation despite failed checks. However, you must review and resolve the failed checks first.
  4. Click Activate and then confirm the activation.
  5. On the Admin tab for both the main site and destination site, click Deploy Changes.
If your main site is not online, deploy changes only on the destination site.
  6. Redirect all data sources to the destination site.

Results

The destination site is now active and processing events and flows for your deployment.
