Managing service orders

Use the service to manage service orders.

Creating service orders
Create or update a service order. If the service order is associated with a tenant that is integrated with Maximo® Asset Management, the service order is created in the EAM system and in Device Management Enablement by default. Alternatively, to ingest one or more service orders for the integrated tenant from the EAM system into Device Management Enablement, set the value of the optional NO_SYNC property to true for each service order in the request.
Creating a service order from an asset
Create a service order from an asset. The new service order is automatically linked to the asset. Alternatively, if the associated tenant is integrated with Maximo Asset Management, to ingest a service order from the EAM system into Device Management Enablement and link the service order to the asset, set the value of the optional NO_SYNC property to true in the request.
Creating a service order from an event
Create a service order from an event. The new service order is automatically linked to the event. Alternatively, if the associated tenant is integrated with Maximo Asset Management, to ingest a service order from the EAM system into Device Management Enablement and link the service order to the event, set the value of the optional NO_SYNC property to true in the request.
Updating service orders
Update or create a service order. If the service order is associated with a tenant that is integrated with Maximo Asset Management, the service order is updated in the EAM system and in Device Management Enablement by default. Alternatively, to ingest updated service order details from the EAM system into the existing service order record in Device Management Enablement for the integrated tenant, set the value of the optional NO_SYNC property to true in the request.
Listing service orders
List the service orders. You can restrict the list of service orders that are returned by specifying whether or not the service orders have defined locations. You can also specify whether or not the service orders that are returned have associated work orders. If the service orders are associated with a tenant that is integrated with your Maximo Asset Management system, the service orders in the EAM system and in Device Management Enablement are listed by default. Alternatively, to list the service orders that are stored in Device Management Enablement only for the integrated tenant, set the value of the optional NO_SYNC property to true in the request.
Linking a service order to work orders
Link a service order to one or more work orders. If the service order and the work orders are associated with a tenant that is integrated with your Maximo Asset Management system, by default the associations between the service order and the work orders are created in the EAM system and in Device Management Enablement. Alternatively, to ingest the associations between the service order and the work orders from the EAM system into Device Management Enablement for the integrated tenant, set the value of the optional NO_SYNC property to true in the request.
Listing the work orders linked to a service order
List the work orders that are linked to the specified service order, or list the work orders that are not linked to the specified service order. Work orders in Device Management Enablement only are listed. The maximum number of work orders that are listed is 500.
Removing the link between a service order and a work order
Remove the link between a service order and a work orders. If the service order and the work order are associated with a tenant that is integrated with your Maximo Asset Management system, by default the link between the service order and the work order is deleted in the EAM system and in Device Management Enablement. Alternatively, to remove the link between the service order and the work order in Device Management Enablement only for the integrated tenant, set the value of the optional NO_SYNC query parameter to true in the request.

To ingest the association from the EAM system, you must first ensure that the PURE_EXTERNAL_ID field is populated for the asset in Device Management Enablement.

Listing the assets to link to a service order
List the assets that are available in Device Management Enablement to link to a service order. A maximum of 500 assets are listed.
