Installing the database package

Install the required database package.

About this task

  • For IBM® Intelligent Operations Center V5.2.1, a Db2® version 11.1 Express-C database is required.
  • For IBM Intelligent Operations Center V5.2.0, a DB2® version 10.5 Express-C is required.
The required version of the database package is included in the installation package.

Procedure

  1. Start the database installation wizard:
    • To start the Db2 installation wizard for IBM Intelligent Operations Center V5.2.1, locate and run the v11.1_win64_expc.exe file.
    • To start the DB2 installation wizard for IBM Intelligent Operations Center V5.2.0, locate and run the v10.5_win64_expc.exe file.
  2. Proceed through the installation wizard and accept the default values, except for the following values:
    1. Select the customized installation option. Then, in the "Select the features to install" window, in addition to the features that are selected by default, select the Spatial Extender feature.
    2. In the Set user information for the DB2 Administration Server window, set the user name and password for the DB2 services, and also select Use the same account for the remaining DB2 services. You can specify a user name of your choice. However, to be consistent with other user names that are used in IBM Intelligent Operations Center, enter db2i1own. Note the password that you choose because you will need to use it later.
      Note: Ensure that the first character in the password is an alphanumeric. Do not use symbols or other special characters as the first character.
    3. In the Configure DB2 instances window, you can select the DB2 instance, and then configure the Port number on the TCP/IP tab of the DB2 instance configuration window. You can specify a port number of your choice. However, to be consistent with port numbers that are used in IBM Intelligent Operations Center, enter 50000. Note the port number that you choose.
    4. In the Set up notifications window, clear Set up your DB2 server to send notifications.
  3. Complete the installation wizard and start the installation.
  4. After the installation completes successfully, you can delete the installation directory.
