Filtering by boundary

In the Where pane, define the boundary for which you want data to be displayed in the content panel.

About this task

If a data source is configured as data for boundary, it is displayed in the Where pane. You can set the boundary to one or more boundary areas that are defined in data items that are received from the data source.

The options that are displayed depend on the version of IBM® Intelligent Operations Center that you are using.

Procedure

In the Where pane, choose from the following options:

  • To set the boundary to the current zoom level and pan location that is set on the Map tab, click either Area currently displayed on map, or Area within visible map.
  • To set the boundary to an area that you draw on the map, click Drawn area, and then select a shape to draw the area with. After you draw a shape, you can select it, and either edit it, or clear it.
  • To set the boundary to a boundary area, do the following steps:
    1. Click either Named area, or Area within selected boundaries.
    2. Select a data source from the first list, which is the Boundary area type list.
    3. Select one or more boundary areas from the second list, which is the Boundary area list.
The boundary areas that you select are highlighted on the map.
