Field lookup search window
Field lookup search windows are read only windows available from the Items module in Grid Edit mode, Grid View, and in Form view in IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization. You can search and select reference table entries from a range of existing values. They're used where there's numerous values to search, and are usually identified by codes or numbers. The benefit to field lookups is the ability to search for values where only part of a name or code is known. For example, if you know only part of a supplier name for "Johnson", such as "John" or "Jo", all matching fields are retrieved in the results. {:shortest}
Accessing the field lookup search window function
From the Grid Edit view, open the Field Lookup search window, click the ellipsis (...) located next to the field name. It's available only in fields that are enabled by your IBM Consultant.
- The Field Lookup window provides a search box to search different fields, and all existing data columns. Enter the value that you want to search, and then double-click to select it. Once it is selected and saved, it exits the window. After the value is saved, it becomes the new value displayed.
- To edit or clear the selection, you need to go back into the search window and click clear value then save your selection.
