Get started with IBM® Maximo Inventory Optimization Essentials by configuring, adding user, and importing items details and item usage.

Getting started for administrators
As a Maximo Inventory Optimization Essentials Administrator, you can get started by configuring the IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization Essentials to ensure that the system is tailored to your business needs.
The first time you log into the Maximo Inventory Optimization Essentials, the system automatically runs a start up wizard. This wizard has following two parts:
  • Configuration
  • Add users
The configuration wizard runs first and does not run again. It is important to answer the questions correctly as they impact calculations, recommendations, and data reporting. The user setup wizard adds users to the system and at least one user must be added during the initial setup.
Getting started for importer
As a Essential Importer, you can get started in IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization Essentials by accessing both the ITEMS module and IMPORTS module. Your role includes all the capabilities of an essential user, with the added ability to import new item details and items usage history.
Getting started for user
As a Essential User, you can get started in IBM Maximo Inventory Optimization Essentials by accessing ITEMS module where you can perform various actions such as editing items and downloading information.
