Project details
A project groups assets for display in summary and details page views. A "Project details" page shows the details for a particular project in the inventory database.
When you create a new project, you provide a name and description, and parent project if appropriate.
You can use
the “Project details” page to complete
the following tasks:
- See the attributes of a specific project.
- Perform actions on the asset.
- See other assets that are related to the current asset.
- See measurements for the assets of a project.
This page contains sections that help you with the following tasks.
- Context
- This section is in the upper-left corner of the page. It opens the "Bookmark this page" wizard in a separate window.
- Details
- This section is the shaded area at the top left of the page. It
shows the attributes of the asset. If an attribute name is a link,
you can access a details page for it by clicking the link. If an icon is present, mouse over the icon for the tooltip
to appear, such as Refresh collection, or edit. For more information

- Describes attributes that are common to multiple assets.

- Projects are persisted in the application table using the designated asset type.

- This section is a drop-down list on the right side of the page.

Tip: This action is hidden unless you are the creator of the Application collection, or logged on with an ID that has product administrative authority, and when not in the mode of adding or removing assets from the collection.

- Related assets
- This section is a series of tabbed tables that show attributes
of assets that are related to the current asset. Click a tab to display
each table of related assets. You can refine the contents of the table
under each tab by using the search fields.
- Definition
- Lists the total number of assets assigned directly to this project.
- Common assets
- Lists the total number of common assets that are common to z/OS® and distributed asset types in the project.
- z/OS assets
- Lists the total number of z/OS assets in the project.
- Distributed assets
- Lists the total number of distributed assets in the project.
- Web service assets
- Lists the total number of web service assets in the project.
- Projects
- Lists the descendant projects related to this project directly only, or directly and indirectly.
- Metrics – overview
- Shows a summary of the measurements that are taken by Rational® Asset Analyzer for the assets in the project.
- Metrics – detailed
- Shows a summary of a single measurement by language and file type, for example, to see a summary of Halstead effort for each language and file type in the project.
