Personalizing Blueworks Live environments

You can personalize the way Blueworks Live works for you by updating your user settings, choosing your start page, and customizing the properties that you see in your view.

Updating user settings

You can personalize Blueworks Live by updating your user settings. To open the My User Settings window, click your login name in the upper right corner.

Setting notification preferences

There are a number of notifications that Blueworks Live can send to you by email so that you can stay up-to-date about activities and conversations that you care about.

On the Notifications tab, you can select whether to receive the following types of updates:
  • A weekly update about activity in your account.
  • A daily update about changes made to items you follow and your current tasks.
  • Immediate notifications about replies to items you've commented on and about new tasks that are assigned to you.

Auto-follow settings

In addition to following any artifacts, spaces, and comment threads by clicking the follow icon, you can also choose to set up auto-following on the Profile tab.

Select whether to automatically follow artifacts that you create or edit, work that you launch, or posts that you create.

Updating time zone and language settings

You can also update your current time zone and language preference.

To update time zone and language

  1. Click your logged in name. My User Settings window appears.
  2. On the Location tab, you can select
    • Time zone from the Current time zone selector.
    • Language from the Language selector.

Customizing your displayed properties

You can choose the properties you want to see and the order you want to see them in.

Your changes affect the properties you see in the Details view and the Documentation view for all blueprints, milestones, and activities in the account. They affect only your view. They don't affect anyone else's view, or the properties themselves.

To customize your displayed properties for an account:
  1. In the Details view of any blueprint, milestone, or activity, click the gear icon. snapshot button
  2. Click the visibility icon of each property to show or hide it. To re-order the properties, click and drag each property to the row that you want. If you change your mind, you can restore the default view of the properties by clicking Restore Defaults.
  3. When you are satisfied with the properties, click Save.
When you export to Microsoft Word, you can choose whether to export your customized properties or the default properties.

Pinning a start page

You can select a specific page as your start page so that you are brought to that page every time you log into Blueworks Live.

For example, if you typically do work from the My Tasks page of the Work tab, you can select this page as your start page by going to that page and clicking pin start page button in the upper left corner of the page.

After you have pinned a page, a checkmark selected start page button appears in the corner whenever you are on that page.

To change your start page to another page, go to the new page and click pin start page button again. Your start page will be updated to the new page.
