The hardware that controls PCI adapters and PCI card slots detected an error.

The failing component is the adapter in the location that is specified by the direct select address (DSA) in the reference code. When possible, the diagnostic code determines the FRU location for the serviceable event view.

  1. Are you working from the serviceable event view and a PCI adapter location is listed with this FRU?
    • No: Complete the following steps:
      1. Record the DSA, which is word 7 of the reference code.
      2. Locate the card that is specified in the DSA by performing the DSA translation procedure. Use the DSA translation procedure to determine a card position when no location is given for a PCI adapter FRU. Return here after locating the FRU and continue with the next step.
    • Yes: There is a location code for the PCI adapter in the serviceable event view. Continue with the next step.
  2. Were you sent to this procedure from another procedure in order to obtain the PCI adapter location?
    • No: Continue with the next step.
    • Yes: Return to the procedure that sent you here. This ends the procedure.
  3. Use the table below to determine the service action to perform.

Replace the adapter at the location identified in this procedure. See Removing and replacing adapters in the 5105-22E, 9008-22L, 9009-22A, 9009-22G, 9223-22H, or 9223-22S system.
    9009-41A, 9009-41G, 9009-42A, 9009-42G, 9223-42H, or 9223-42S Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to Adapter information by feature code to determine the part number. Replace the adapter at the location identified in this procedure. See Removing and replacing adapters in the 9009-41A, 9009-41G, 9009-42A, 9009-42G, 9223-42H, or 9223-42S system.
    9040-MR9 Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to Adapter information by feature code to determine the part number. Replace the adapter at the location identified in this procedure. See Removing and replacing adapters in the 9040-MR9 system.
    9080-M9S Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to Adapter information by feature code to determine the part number. Use the management console to replace the failing item at the location that was identified in this procedure.
