Complete the following steps:

1. Were you sent here by a power reference code (1xxxxxxx)?
   • No: Continue with the next step.
   • Yes: Go to SYSBKPL. This ends the procedure.
2. Is the system a 9080-M9S?
   • Yes: If the first four digits of the reference code that sent you here represent the CCIN of an I/O adapter, go to PCIEXTN. Otherwise, continue with the next step. This ends the procedure.
   • No: Continue with the next step.
3. Determine the location of the backplane by completing one of the following steps:
   • Use the location information for the backplane in the serviceable event view if it is available.
   • If there is no location information for the backplane in the serviceable event view, but there is location information for an I/O adapter, device, or other failing item, use the Un-Px portion of the location to determine the backplane location.
   • If there is no location information in the serviceable event view, but there is a PCI adapter in the failing item list, find the address of the I/O adapter (see the System reference code format description). Use the address to find the location. See Addresses. Use the Un-Px portion of the I/O adapter location to determine the backplane location.
4. Use the location code to determine in which unit the backplane is located. Any backplane that connects the device or I/O adapter might be the cause of the problem. Use the following table to determine the part number for the field replaceable unit (FRU).
