Perform automatic installation of the operating system

This option allows you to install the operating system from a tape, optical media, network, or virtual optical image.

Results

This option allows you to install the operating system. Selecting from the following devices to install the operating system:
  • Tape
  • Optical media
  • Virtual optical - preselected image catalog
  • Current alternate selected device
  • Network device
  • Optical Container
Note: When your system is in the limited paging environment (see System paging environments), the appearance of the Perform an automatic installation of the operating system option varies depending on the operating system. For more information, see IBM i operating system.
