Installing the operating system

Select the Install the operating system option from the Use Dedicated Service (DST) Tools display.

This option installs the operating system from removable media (for example, tape). The present operating system (if any) is replaced. Use this option to install a new release of the presently installed operating system or to install the operating system after a failure.

This option is not available under basic DST authority. For more information about authority, see Work with service tools user IDs.
