Use this procedure if you have a new HMC, a new managed
system, or have moved your managed system to a different HMC.
If your system was previously connected to the same HMC and is
now in No connection state, refer to Correcting a No connection state for a managed system.
- From the Systems Management - Servers work pane, select Connections - Add
Managed System from the taskpad. For more information, see Connections. Does the system appear in the work
pane?
- Yes: This ends the procedure.
- No: Continue with step 2.
- Check for network problems, cables, switches, link lights on the
service processor, and so on. Was there a problem?
- Yes: Correct the problem and return to step 1.
- No: Continue with step 3.
- Reset the service processor to force it to request a new IP address
using the following steps:
- Power Off the server.
- Unplug the AC power cord and re-plug it back in.
- Power On the server.
- Did resetting the service processor resolve the problem?
- Yes: This ends the procedure.
- No: Contact your next level of support.
