Use this procedure to isolate problems with station protectors.
Station protectors must be installed on all twinaxial cables
that leave the building in which the server is located. This applies
even if the cables go underground, through a tunnel, through a covered
outside hallway, or through a skyway. Station protectors help prevent
electrical noise on these cables from affecting the server.
- Look at the Product Activity Log to determine what workstations
are associated with the failure.
- Determine if station protectors are installed on the twinaxial
cables to the failing workstations.
Are station protectors
installed on the twinaxial cables to the failing workstations?
- Yes: Perform the next intermittent isolation procedure
listed in the Isolation procedure column. This ends the
procedure.
- No: You may need to install station protectors on the
twinaxial cables to the failing workstations. This ends the procedure.
