Overview

This feature provides integrated I/O connectors for a system enclosure. This feature provides two 10 Gb Host Ethernet Adapter (HEA) copper Small Form-factor Pluggable + (SFP+) connections that can be virtualized into the system LPARs. All of the connectors are on the rear bulkhead of the CEC enclosure.

This feature is not intended to be connected directly or indirectly by any means to interfaces of public telecommunications networks.

Feature code 1837 requires the use of compatible SFP+, 10 Gbps, copper, twinaxial, active, Ethernet cables. These cables are feature codes EN01 (1 m), EN02 (3 m), and EN03 (5 m). The SFP+ twinaxial copper is not the same as IBM i 5250 twinaxial or CX4 or 10 GBASE-T. These cables are compliant with industry standard specifications SFF-8431 Revision 4.1 and SFF-8472 Revision 10.4, and with all applicable IBM requirements.

Note: The minimum system firmware required for use with these SFP+ cables is eFW7.2.0 SP1 (01AL720_082).
