Problems on your managed system are reported to the management console as
serviceable events. You can view the problem, manage problem data,
report the event to your service provider, or repair the problem.
On a regular basis, review and close any open serviceable events that
have been repaired on the management console.
To manage serviceable events on the Hardware Management Console (HMC), complete the
following steps:
- From the Service Management work pane,
open the Manage Serviceable Events task.
- From the Manage Serviceable Events window, provide event criteria,
error criteria, and field-replaceable unit (FRU) criteria.
Alternatively,
you can select All.
- Click OK. A table is shown with the serviceable
events that match your criteria.
To manage serviceable events on the Systems Director Management Console (SDMC), complete the following
steps:
- From the main Service and Support Manager page,
click Serviceable Problems within the Electronic
Services Links list.
Tip: The Serviceable Problems
window displays a filtered list of only those problems associated
with systems that are monitored by the Service and Support Manager.
To view problems for all the systems managed by IBM® Systems Director, click All Problems.
- Click the problem listed in the Name column that you want to work
with. This action displays the properties of the selected problem.
