Cabling the 9080-HEX system
Use this information to cable the 9080-HEX system.
When you cable the 9080-HEX system with more than one system node in the configuration, you must connect the system nodes to each other, and also connect each system node to the system control unit.
The following diagrams help you to understand port-to-port cabling between components. To avoid connection issues, use the specified length of cable for each connection. If you identify a cabling problem, use the Exchange FRU (if you are using HMC Version 10.1.1020.0, or earlier) or the Exchange FRU (if you are using HMC Version 10.2.1030.0, or later) procedure on the Hardware Management Console to remove and replace cables. For cable part number information, see 9080-HEX system parts.
Service Processor (FSP) and Universal power interface (UPIC) cabling
The service processor (FSP) cables are colored orange and the Universal power interface (UPIC) cables are colored blue in Figure 1. For a system with one system node, both UPIC cables connect to ND0. For a system with two or more system nodes, the first UPIC cable connects to ND0 and the second UPIC cable connects to ND1.
