MEXIP09
Use this procedure to isolate a power problem with an enclosure services manager (ESM) in an expansion drawer.
Procedure
- Is a location code in the format Un-Px
or Un-Px-Ey available in the serviceable
event view for the reference code you are working on?
- Yes: Continue with the next step.
- No: Contact your next level of support. This ends the procedure.
- Use the location code to find the expansion drawer. For information about locations, see Part locations and location codes.
- Ensure that there is power to the NED24 NVMe expansion drawer by verifying the following LED states:
- The AC input LED (1) and the DC output LED (2) are on solid for both of the power supplies in the expansion drawer. See Figure 1.
- The enclosure services manager (ESM) power LED (3) is on solid. The power LED is located on the lower right-hand corner of the ESM that was identified in the previous step. For the location of the Power LED on an ESM, see Figure 2.

Were any power LED problems detected?- Yes: Ensure that the expansion drawer has power by verifying that AC power is present and that the power cords are fully seated. If the expansion drawer has power, complete the replacement procedure for any FRU with a power LED problem. For more information about location codes and removal and replacement procedures, see NED24 NVMe expansion drawer locations. For more information about part numbers, see NED24 NVMe expansion drawer system parts. This ends the procedure.
- No: Continue with the next step.
- Are there any B7006B0x reference codes in the serviceable
event view that have the expansion drawer that contains the ESM or power supply that you identified
in step 1 in the failing item list?
- Yes: Complete the service actions that are indicated for the reference code. This ends the procedure.
- No: Continue with the next failing item in the failing item list of the serviceable event. This ends the procedure.
