Placing an 5104-22C, 9006-22C, or 9006-22P system into the service position

To place a system into the service position, complete the steps in this procedure.

Before you begin

Notes:
  • When you place the system in the service position, ensure that the cables at the rear of the system do not catch or bind as you pull the system unit out of the rack.
  • When you place the system into the service position, ensure that all stability plates are firmly installed to prevent the rack from toppling. Ensure that only one system unit is in the service position at a time.
  • When the rails are fully extended, the rail safety latches lock into place. This action prevents the system from being pulled out too far.

Procedure

  1. Loosen the front screws (A) that secure the system to the rack from both sides of the system as shown in Figure 1.

  2. Slide the system unit out until the rails lock into place.
    Ensure that the cables and cable management arm move freely, and that they do not catch on anything.
