Replacing the disk drive and fan card in the 8335-GTG or 8335-GTH system
To replace a disk drive and fan card, complete
the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on
and that the ESD clip is plugged into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If
not, do so now.
Remove the replacement disk drive and fan card from the
protective plastic envelope.
Using the alignment pins (one on each side) (A) for the disk drive and fan card(B), lower and pivot the card into place.
Note: Both the front USB cable and
the power switch cable (A) need to be located in the recessed area
(B) of the disk drive and fan card.
If they are not located in that recessed area, they can be pinched and damaged. See Figure 2.

Replace two screws (B) for the bottom of the disk drive and fan card.
Figure 3 shows the screw locations. Figure 3. Screw locations for the disk drive and fan card
Replace five screws (A) at the top of the disk drive and fan card.
Replace one screw (C) in each side of the disk drive and fan card.
Replace the holder (A) with three screws (B) as
shown in Figure 4.

Replace the air baffles (A) and (B) as shown in Figure 5.

Using your labels, replace the disk drives and any fillers.
