Forcing a rechargeable battery error
Putting your IBM® SAS RAID controller's cache battery pack into an error state ensures that write caching is stopped prior to replacing a cache battery pack. The error state requires replacement of the battery.
Make sure that you have the correct type and quantity of cache
battery packs for the replacement. You must replace the cache battery
pack before you can resume normal operations.
Forcing the battery error has the following results:
- The system logs an error.
- Data caching becomes disabled on the selected controller.
- System performance could become significantly degraded until the cache battery pack is replaced on the selected controller.
