Preparing the system for operation after removing and replacing the control panel with the system power turned on

Learn how to prepare the system for operation after you remove and replace the control panel.

1. Access the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI).
   Attention: Do not reset the service processor, or power off and power on the system, during this procedure.
2. In the navigation area, click Concurrent maintenance > Control panel.
3. In the Preparing the control panel window, select Install and click Continue.
4. Choose the control panel location and click Save Settings. If the operation was successful, the window displays Operation completed successfully.
   Note: If a ball or dot appears in the control panel function display (A), toggle between function 02 and function 01 until the ball or dot disappears.

5. Replace the front cover. For instructions, see Replacing the front cover.
6. Verify whether the control panel is operational by checking the progress codes.
