Changing hardware for one or more consoles by using an HMC Enhanced + Tech Preview (Pre-GA) or HMC Enhanced+ interface

Learn how to change multiple hardware consoles, such as moving two or more adapters, while the logical partition and managed system remain powered on by using an HMC Enhanced + Tech Preview (Pre-GA) or HMC Enhanced+ interface.

1. Select the managed system and logical partition where you want to exchange adapters:
   1. In the navigation area, click the Resources icon , and then click All Servers.
   2. Select the managed system.
   3. Select the logical partition for which you want to change the hardware.
2. To remove an adapter, complete the following steps:
   1. Click Actions > View Partition Properties.
   2. Select Physical I/O Adapters.
   3. Right click the adapter and select Remove Adapter to remove dynamically, and then click OK.
   4. Click Apply.
3. To add a new adapter after you have removed one, complete the following steps:
   1. Click Actions > View Partition Properties.
   2. Select Physical I/O Adapters.
   3. Right click the adapter and select Add to remove dynamically, and then click OK.
   4. Click Apply.
4. Attach any necessary cables to the adapter.
