API services available in IBM Master Data Management
IBM Master Data Management provides a powerful REST API that can connect its powerful master data matching capabilities to your systems and processes. Use the IBM Master Data Management REST API, and the corresponding SDKs, to develop applications that interact with the service.
For more information about the IBM Master Data Management REST API and the corresponding SDKs, see the IBM Master Data Management as a Service API reference.
IBM Master Data Management API methods are categorized into services, sometimes also referred to as microservices:
- Configuration service
- Entity Maintenance service
- Job service
- Matching service
- Migration service
- Model service
Configuration service
The Configuration service enables data engineers to configure data types, manage project metadata, suggest mapping and matching attributes, and initiate the data matching process.
This service supports the configuration user experience to load and manage data assets and data types.
Entity Maintenance service
The Entity Maintenance service enables line-of-business users or data analysts to search for and modify the data in the system. This service supports text searches, get records, and get entities. Its functions include create, edit, delete, and export record.
This service supports the master data workspace user experience to search, view, edit, and export records and entities.
Job service
The Job service enables data engineers and administrators to manage and monitor ongoing or completed IBM Master Data Management jobs.
Matching service
The Matching service enables data engineers to manage the data matching process. This service is used to initiate, change, manage, and lookup the matching rules, algorithms, and metadata associated with matching.
This service supports the configuration and master data workspace user experiences to initiate matching and to visualize matching results and master data entities.
Migration service
The Migration service enables you to migrate your record and relationship data from InfoSphere MDM Advanced Edition to the IBM Master Data Management service. The migration service works with the InfoSphere MDM Publisher component to populate the IBM Master Data Management service with your InfoSphere MDM Advanced Edition data.
Use the IBM Master Data Management migration service APIs to achivee repeatable, auditable migrations. When you migrate your master data by using the migration service APIs, you ensure that your data maintains its existing structure. Your existing master data entities, relationships, groups, and matching algorithm all remain intact and unchanged.
Model service
The Model service enables data engineers to manage the metadata in the IBM Master Data Management system. Use this service to view and modify data types, the matching algorithm, and the composite view rules.
This service supports the configuration and master data workspace user experiences to manage and visualize the data model and composite views.
