Managing master data tags in IBM Master Data Management
Create and manage tags to help users find, identify, and organize data quality issues in your master data.
Master data tags work like searchable labels to help users in your organization to quickly organize and prioritize data quality issues.
After you create tags, you can assign them to your master data quality issues from the workspace's Stewardship tab. You can also configure potential overlay and potential match workflows to automatically apply tags to the issues they create. For more information about configuring potential overlay workflows, see Configuring a potential overlay workflow. For more information about configuring potential match workflows, see Configuring a potential match workflow.
To create and manage tags for your master data:
-
From the Master data navigation menu, click Manage tags
.
-
On the Tag management page, click Create tag, then define the tag details:
- Enter a name for the tag. Because the name appears on the tag, use a concise, descriptive name.
- Select a color for the tag. If you do not select a color, the tag will be colorless by default.
- Check the preview to confirm that the tag appears as expected.
- Optional: Enter a description to explain the tag and when to use it. This description is visible only to users who manage tags.
- Click Save.
-
To edit a tag, click the Edit icon
.
Important: Editing a tag affects all existing instances of that tag applied to issues.
