Notes: All sustained data rates are dependent on the entire data path (from data source to host system to tape drive). By using the built-in data-compression capability of the tape drives, you can achieve greater data rates than the native data transfer rate. However, the actual throughput is a function of many components, such as the host system processor, disk data rate, block size, data compression ratio, interconnect, and system or application software. The 55F format is the native format for the 3592 Model 55F and 55E. The 60F format is the native format for the 3592 Model 60F, 60E, and 60S. The amount of time added depends on the characteristics of how the tape has been used during the current mount. Prior to D3I5_44F and D3I4_916 the unload time was 284 seconds, even if the tape had not moved away from BOT. The 70F format is the native format for the 3592 Model 70F, and 70S.
