Installing the ICFM tools client

After you install prerequisites and prepare the client system, you must mount the installation media, run the installation program, and then customize the installed software.

Before you begin

  • The Windows user account used to install the ICFM client software must be a member of the Administrator group.
  • At least one Windows client is required in your environment to view Counter Fraud data and work with investigations and dashboards.

About this task

Complete the following installation and configuration tasks:
  • Extracting the client installation files
    The installation media for the client installation is packaged as three files. These files must be extracted into the local media directory c:\distributionMedia on the client where the IBM Counter Fraud Management client tools are installed.
  • Installing the IBM Java Runtime Environment
    Install the IBM Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and set the JAVA_HOME environment variable on the client.
  • Customizing the client resource properties files
    Edit the resource properties files to add your Windows client information before you run the client installation program.
  • Running the client installation program
    The client installation program installs the required client tools for the IBM Counter Fraud Management solution.
  • Configuring the ICFM client
    After you install the IBM Counter Fraud Management client software, you must configure the client applications.
  • Installing the ICFM Detection Toolkit
    The IBM Counter Fraud Management Detection Toolkit provides a set of plug-ins, the CFIA schema, patterns, libraries, and samples so that you can build analysis flows and analytics for a complete ICFM fraud solution quickly and easily.
