Network profiles

A network profile defines the network interface configurations that are used by a compute node that is deployed through IBM® Spectrum Cluster Foundation Community Edition. To create a network profile to be applied to a compute node during the provisioning phase, the logical networks and interfaces must be defined to be used in a network profile.

To view network profiles from the Web Portal, go to the Ressources tab, and select Node Provisioning > Provisioning Templates > Network Profiles.

Network profiles include the network interface configurations that are used by a node. You can include multiple network interface types, including:
  • Ethernet
  • InfiniBand
  • BMC
  • FSP
  • Customized

You can customize an Ethernet and InfiniBand network interface by using a custom interface configuration command when you create or modify a network profile.

Each network profile has a primary interface and an installation interface. A primary interface is used for monitoring and updating nodes. An installation interface is used for installation and provisioning a node only.
