Custom installation roadmap

Before you begin your custom installation of or , use the following roadmap to prepare your values for each installation option. You can choose to use the default example values for some or all of the options.

2. Select the location that you want to install the operating system from. If you choose to install from an ISO image or mount point, you must enter the ISO image or mount point path. For example: /iso/rhel/7.x/x86_64/rhel-server-7.x-x86_64-dvd.iso or /iso/rhel/7.x/ppc64le/rhel-server-7.x-ppc64le-dvd.iso.
Note: If the OS is found on more than one ISO image, use the first ISO image during the installation. After the or installation is completed, you can add the next ISO image from the management console.

9. Specify the hardware profile used by your BMC network. Hardware profile, options include:
For an x86 management node:
  • IPMI
  • IBM_Flex_System_x
  • IBM_System_x_M4
  • IBM_iDataPlex_M4
  • IBM_NeXtScale_M4
For a Power management node:
  • IBM_PowerNV
  • IBM_PowerKVM_Guest
  • IBM_System_p_LC
IBM_System_x_M4 (on x86) or IBM_PowerNV (on Power)  
10. Set the provision network domain name. private.dns.zone  
11. Set a domain name for the public network? (Yes/No) Yes

13. Specify the provisioning compute node IP address range. This is generated based on management node interface. 10.10.0.3-10.10.0.200
