Configure network settings for the Network IPS appliance after you install Firmware version 4.1 or later.
There are two network configuration methods available for Firmware version 4.1 or later:
Zero configuration networking is a network configuration method that was introduced for Firmware version 4.1 or later. This method simplifies the initial setup of the Network IPS appliance. You use Bonjour, a zero configuration networking application from Apple to discover the Network IPS appliance on the network. You then use Network IPS Setup, a web-based configuration wizard to configure network settings for the Network IPS appliance.
If you do not want to use zero configuration networking to configure network settings, Firmware version 4.1 or later still supports the traditional method of configuring network settings from the LCD panel (or by using a serial console connection). Additionally, you can still use Network IPS Setup to complete the initial network configuration.
