Creating a workflow in IBM Content Manager
The upload of bar codes and document IDs to SAP requires a workflow in IBM Content Manager. The workflow is a document routing process or a part of such a process and requires a scan work node and an error work node.
About this task
In a IBM Content Manager workflow, the work items in the scan work node are routed to the error work node. At the same time, the documents are moved from the source item types to the target item types. After the work items arrive at the error work node, the bar codes and the IDs of the documents are sent to SAP.
If the upload is completed successfully, the workflow ends. As a result, the corresponding work items are moved from the error work node to the next work node in the process.
If the upload fails, you can manually move the failed work items from the error work node back to the scan work node so that they can be processed again. The documents, however, remain in the target item types. They are not moved back to their source item types.
You can define a routing process exclusively for this purpose, or integrate the workflow into a larger document routing process.
Use the system administration client of IBM Content Manager to create a workflow.
