Connecting to the ProtecTIER server using the TSSC for the TS7650 Appliance or TS7650G (Gateway), ProtecTIER V3.3.6

This topic describes how to connect to the server and verify firmware levels using the TS3000 System Console (TSSC).

Procedure

  1. Log in to the TSSC with the user name service and password service.
  2. Right-click on the blue desktop, and from the drop-down menu, select System Console Actions > Console Configuration Utility.
  3. When prompted for a user name and password, enter service in both fields.
  4. From the icon menu, select Attached Systems.
  5. Write down the 172.31.1.xx IP address for the server that is being recovered.
  6. Select File > Quit to exit.
  7. Right-click on the blue desktop, and select the menu option Browser functions > Launch Browser.
  8. Enter the IMM IP address ( 172.31.1.xx) (the server’s IP address on the TSSC +1, example: 172.31.1.10, the IMM would be 172.31.1.11) into the URL address line.
  9. Enter your user name and password on the Login page and select Login.
    • If the user name and password have been changed, obtain them from the system administrator.
    • Otherwise, type the initial values for the IMM:
      Field Value Notes
User name USERID Must be entered in all uppercase.
Password PASSW0RD Must be entered in all uppercase. The 0 is a zero.
  10. Select the timeout value no timeout and click Continue.
  11. Verify the current firmware levels on the server:
    1. Select System > Monitors > Vital Product Data.
    2. In the center panel, scroll to the section titled Firmware VPD.
    3. Verify that the firmware levels are all at the levels specified in Table 1.
