System summary

Use this page for a visual summary of the system status of each controller and the TS3500 Tape Library.

The System summary page is at the top of the Web interface to help you diagnose and determine what is happening in the system.

Depending on the configuration, the System summary page displays up to four icons that represent the following components:

The icons representing controllers are displayed only when the controller is present in the configuration. In a stand-alone configuration where no other controllers exist, the Primary LM Controller is the only controller icon that is displayed. If the configuration is set for high availability and no other FICON Controllers are present, the only controller icons that are displayed are the Primary and Standby LM Controllers.

Each controller icon has a link to the Events page. To find out what is happening in the controller, look for detailed information on the Events page.

The TS3500 icon has a link to the TS3500 Web specialist. When you click the TS3500 icon, a Launch TS3500 Library Specialist dialog box is displayed. By default, the link is not set. If you have the required permissions, you can edit the link by clicking the Edit button. When you enter a valid host name and an IPv4 valid address in the blank text field, the information is saved when you click the Submit Changes button. If an invalid host name and an IPv4 valid address value is entered, an error message is displayed in the dialog box. The Cancel button changes the view in the dialog box so that the link is displayed instead of the text field. To close the dialog box, click the Close button in the upper right corner of the title bar.

Note: The icon for the TS3500 Tape Library does not represent all of the health information for the TS3500 Tape Library. It only represents the status of the TS3500 Tape Library as it pertains to the 3592-C07 configuration. For example, if a failure on the TS3500 Tape Library does not affect the 3592-C07 usage, it does not affect the icon on this page.

The Other FICON Controllers icon also has a number sign affixed to it which indicates the number of other FICON controllers.
