Flash modules

Your FlashSystem™ V840 supports up to 12 flash modules, accessible from the front of the enclosure.

Each flash module has a raw capacity of 1 TB, 2 TB, or 4 TB of flash memory. The maximum usable storage capacity of an enclosure is based on the following factors:
Flash modules are installed based on the configuration guidelines in Table 1. For optimal cooling of the enclosure, if there are fewer than 12 flash modules, they are installed beginning in the center pair of slots and added in pairs on either side until all 12 slots are populated.

Attention: Flash modules are warm-swappable in RAID 5 only. Data will be lost in RAID 0 mode if flash modules are warm-swapped. Only one flash module may be warm-swapped at a time; the physical order of the flash modules must be maintained. Wait for the new flash module to come online before swapping any additional flash modules.
Attention: It is recommended that the storage enclosure remain powered on, or be powered on periodically, to retain array consistency. The storage enclosure can be safely powered down for up to 90 days, in temperatures up to 40 degrees C (104 degrees Fahrenheit). Although the flash modules will retain data if the enclosure is temporarily disconnected from power, if the system is powered off for a period of time exceeding 90 days, data might be lost.
