Configuring your cluster for Microsoft Azure
Follow these steps to configure your cluster to provision virtual machines (VMs) from the Microsoft Azure cloud.
Note: IBM® Spectrum Symphony is certified for
cloud bursting with Azure virtual machine scale sets, which let you create and manage a group of
identical and autoscaling VMs. However, Azure scale sets are not used or supported with the host factory framework when your
cluster is set up to provision hosts from the Azure cloud. If you want to use Azure scale sets, you
are responsible for preparing your network and for creating and managing those scale
sets.
To automatically remove unavailable Azure scale set VMs from the cluster, ensure that you set the EGO_DYNAMIC_HOST_TIMEOUT parameter in the ego.conf file (for example, EGO_DYNAMIC_HOST_TIMEOUT=10M to remove the unavailable host after 10 minutes). For more information, see the ego.conf reference.
