Why does the cluster management console prompt for an unresponsive script on Firefox?

When using Firefox as your web browser, the cluster management console sometimes hangs with a Warning: Unresponsive script error, prompting you to take action on an unresponsive script. This issue typically occurs when the cluster management console charts have a high volume of data to render; in this case, the script just needs extra time to complete.

Procedure

To resolve this issue, modify Firefox settings to allow the script to run longer:

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter.

When the This might void your warranty! warning appears, click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue.

  2. In the about:config page, search for the preference dom.max_script_run_time, and double-click it.
  3. In the Enter integer value dialog, enter (for example) 20.
  4. Click OK.
