Configuring IBM Spectrum Conductor

After installing IBM® Spectrum Conductor on your hosts, entitle the product and configure your cluster as required.

Entitling IBM Spectrum Conductor
Entitlement (licensing) is required only on the primary host. If you do not have an entitlement file, contact your sales representative.
Starting the cluster
Start your cluster by starting EGO on all the hosts in your cluster.
Locating the cluster management console
Follow this task to locate and log in to the cluster management console from a browser.
Determining the installed and active software components
Once you have installed or upgraded IBM Spectrum Conductor, you can use the Installed and Active Software Components page within the cluster management console to review the software packages and versions that are installed. Additionally, this page shows the active version of each software installed.
Adding a host to a cluster
You can add a management host or a compute host to a cluster. When you add a management host, configure host failover so that the system services fail over to a different management host if the primary host fails.
Setting up primary host failover
After installing your management hosts, set up primary host failover by configuring a shared file location and defining the order in which management hosts take over as the primary host if the primary host fails. The management hosts that are designated to become the primary host when failover occurs are known as primary candidate hosts.
Setting additional configurations on a host
Set up additional configurations for your hosts (both management and compute) by enabling automatic startup and granting root privileges to the cluster administrator.
Setting up a reporting database
To work with reports, set up a reporting database. You can enable the Derby demonstration database for reports. However, to produce regular reports for a production cluster, you must use a supported external database.
