Enabling and disabling validation

You can let IBM® InfoSphere® FastTrack automatically validate your mapping specification.

1. From the IBM InfoSphere FastTrack Projects menu, click Open Project.
2. Select a mapping specification from the Mapping Specification view, and click Open.
3. Open the Validation tab on the right of the Mapping Editor.
   Tip: If you do not see the Validation tab, from the menu, click View > Validation.
4. In the Validation view, you see the question, Do you want to enable validation? Click the enhanced text in the view to enable validation.
   
5. When you have validation enabled, for each message you click on in the validation table, the error is highlighted in the Mapping Editor. An explanation for the particular error appears below the validation table.
6. Optional: When validation is enabled, you can right-click on the Validation view to perform functions related to validation messages. Right-click on the Validation column headers to perform functions related to the entire validation table. Right-click on each row in the Validation table to perform functions related to that particular row.
7. To disable validation, click the exclamation symbol in the title bar, !.
