Administering user access and permissions
Administrators assign specific access and permissions within Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities to users based on their role. Administrators can also view user licenses and configure detailed user information.
To get started with Maximo Real Estate and Facilities, you must create the FACILITIESADMIN user in Maximo Application Suite. As soon as the FACILITIESADMIN user is created, it gets synchronized with Maximo Real Estate and Facilities in which the user details already exists with the Base entitlement assigned. The FACILITIESADMIN user is the starting point for all administrative activities in Maximo Real Estate and Facilities. This user can log in to Maximo Real Estate and Facilities with administrative privileges and administer other users. The default home page for the FACILITIESADMIN user is Mas Core - Admin Portal. The following list describes key aspects of user administration in Maximo Real Estate and Facilities.
- Licenses
- A license defines the full range of functional access granted from a specific application within Maximo.
- Groups (Security groups)
- Groups determine which builder tools, modules, business objects (BOs), or UX models users can access within an application. Each group has specific permissions tailored to its purpose.
- Access permissions
- Permissions control what records members of a group can view or modify, ensuring that users only interact with data relevant to their roles.
- Organization and geography
- Access can be further restricted based on the record’s associated organization or geographic location, limiting visibility accordingly.
- Project restrictions
- Records linked to specific projects may have additional restrictions on who can view or edit them based on project membership or roles.
- Home page and menu assignment
- Each user's homepage layout and menu options are assigned according to their organizational role and entitlements, providing tailored navigation suited to their responsibilities.
