Assigning Requests

After a request is created, the Request Manager must assign it to a user. If a workflow is designed for a request and the request is assigned to a user, a notification is sent to the Request Originator and the assigned user. A task is also created for the assigned user.

Before you begin

Ensure that the following prerequisites are met before you assign a request:
  • The request owner and the user to whom you want to assign a request must be part of the same organization.
  • The request owner and the user to whom you want to assign a request must be enabled for Emptoris® Program Management.
  • The request owner and the user to whom you want to assign a request must have the permission to close the requests.
  • You can assign a request to a user if certain default row-level security conditions are satisfied. For more information about the required row-level security conditions, see Permissions for Request business object.
Note: You cannot assign a Closed request.

Procedure

To assign a request, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Request Management tab, click Requests > All Requests.
  2. Click the Request ID hyperlink to open a request that you want to assign.
  3. Click Assign.
  4. Select a user from the Select User page to whom you want to assign the request.
  5. Click OK.
