Permissions Model

Permissions define how a user can access the Emptoris Supplier Lifecycle Management application and complete the assigned tasks.

The following table describes the permission model of Emptoris Supplier Lifecycle Management.
Table 1. Permissions Model
Model Description
User Groups
In the User Groups section, you can complete the following tasks:
  • Assign permissions to internal or external user groups only.
  • Add users to one or more user groups, they inherit the permissions and restrictions that you provide to the user groups.
Modules & Protected Objects
  • You can assign permissions to an entire module or to a particular protected object within the module. For example, a Scorecard is a protected object within the Performance Evaluation module.
  • If you provide permissions for a particular module, in most cases the user group also gets permissions for all the objects within the module.
Revoking permissions

Permissions can be applied to explicitly revoke configured access. For example, a user of a specific organization is not allowed to view all its evaluations. By adding view permission on a sub organization that is restricted would explicitly revoke the view permission on this sub organization. The user would see all the evaluations, depending on the organization except the one sub organization (configured as revoked).

Restrictions

You can restrict permissions that are based on organizations, categories, regions, and accounts. For example, you can provide permissions to view the Performance Evaluations of suppliers.
