Adding words to the dictionary

IBM® Engineering Requirements Management DOORS® (DOORS) provides a client dictionary and a database dictionary. You can configure both of the dictionaries.

About this task

The client dictionary is stored on the computer where the DOORS client is installed. The client dictionary is not a personal dictionary. Anyone using the client can access the client dictionary, including Citrix clients that access the client remotely, and remote access clients. Access controls cannot be set in the client dictionary. However, you can only add words to the client dictionary if you have write access to the directory where it is stored.

The database dictionary can be accessed by any DOORS client that connects to it. You need modify access to the database dictionary to customize it.

Procedure

  1. In the database explorer, click Tools > Manage Dictionaries.
  2. Select the dictionary that you want to customize, and then use the tabs to add new words, add alternative words, or remove words from the dictionary.
  3. Click OK.
