Modifying Graph Preferences
Chart preferences are the different settings that you can configure for a graph based your requirement.
Procedure
To change the type of graph or modify other preferences, complete the following steps:
- On the menu bar, click Tabulations.
- Open the tabulation from the Tabulations List page.
- For information about creating tables or graphs, see Creating Tables or Graphs.
- Open the graph for the tabulation.
- Click the Chart Preferences icon in the Tabulation/Graph header.
- You can modify the following preferences for visuals or graphs:
Table 1. Chart Preferences Preference Description Chart - Display Type: Select the type of chart from the list.
- Rotate axis: Select this check box to swap the X-axis and the Y-axis positions on the graph.
- Chart Height: Enter the height for the chart.
- Chart Width: Enter the width for the chart.
Note: You can enter the height and width for the chart in the range of 0 and 999 pixels.Gridlines Select the gridlines that you want to display on the graph. - Show X-Grid: Display the gridlines for the X-axis.
- Show Y-Grid: Display the gridlines for the Y-axis.
Legend - Show Legend : Select this check box to display a legend.
- Legend Position: Select the position of the legend to be displayed on the graph.
Titles Set the following options for the chart, X-axis, and Y-axis titles. - Chart Title: Enter the title that you want to display on the chart.
- Chart Footer: Enter the text that you want to display as the chart footer.
- X-Axis Title: Enter the title for the X-axis that you want to display on the chart.
- X-Axis Title Position: Select the position for the X-axis title that you want to display on the chart.
- Y-Axis Title: Enter the title for the Y-axis that you want to display on the chart.
- Y-Axis Title Position: Select the position for the X-axis title that you want to display on the chart.
Note: When you select Rotate Axis under the Chart tab, only the following options for X-Axis and Y-Axis title positions are available for selection:- X-Axis Title Position: Inner right and Outer right
- Y-Axis Title Position: Inner top and Outer top
Formatting Set the formatting options for the chart. - Font Size: Select the font size for the labels and the data in the chart.
- Minimum Value: The default minimum value is set for Y-axis based on the data in the tabulation. However, you can set the minimum value for the data that you want to display on the graph. For example, you can set the minimum value to -50 and then it can range up to the maximum value in the graph.
- Maximum Value: The default maximum value is set for Y-axis based on the data in the tabulation. However, you can set the maximum value for the data that you want to display on the graph. For example, you can set the maximum value to 100 and then it can range from the set minimum value to the maximum value in the graph.
- Max. X label characters: Set the maximum characters length for the labels on the X-axis.
- Show data points: Select this check box to display the data points on the graph.
- Show tooltip: Select this check box to display the tooltip while you hover over any data on the graph.
- Show group tooltip: Select this check box to display the group tooltip on the graph.
- X axis label orientation: Select the orientation for the labels that are displayed on the chart for the X-axis.
- Click Preview to view the changes in the graph based on your set preferences.
- Click Save.
