Creating Dashboards
You can create dashboards using bookmarks, tabulations, or analytics.
Before you begin
Procedure
To create a dashboard, complete the following steps:
- On the menu bar, click Dashboards > Create New.
- In the Dashboard Details panel, type a Name and
Description for the dashboard you want to create, and click Add
Panel. Note: You can add multiple panels. Click Add Panel for the number of panels you want to add. There could be a restriction on number of panels that you can add in your setup.
- Add the content that you want to view in these panels.
- You can add content from stored bookmarks, tabulations, analytics, attachments, and external
URLs. Note: The External URL panel might not be enabled in your setup. Contact your system administrator if you want to use the panel in your setup for security purpose.
- Click Bookmarks to search for the bookmark you want to use in your dashboard.
- In the Search Bookmarks field, type the name or an initial letter of the bookmark that you are searching for.
- Click the bookmark name in the search results that are displayed. The dimensions or information elements that are associated with the bookmark are displayed as a list in the Bookmarks section of the panel.
- Drag a dimension from the list to an empty panel in your dashboard. Similarly, add other
dimensions of your choice to the other panels. You can change the dimension that is already
contained in a panel. You must drag the dimension of your choice to the panel and the earlier
dimension is replaced.
- If you have empty panels that you, do not want to use, close the panel.
- You can rename a panel to suit your requirements.
- If you want to add a web page as a panel, click External URL, and then
click Add Panel.Note: This feature is supported only for valid HTML pages and must be enabled by your administrator.
- After you add elements to all the panels, on the menu bar, click Dashboard > Save. The newly created dashboard is displayed on the screen.
- Search Bookmarks when Creating Dashboards
When you create a Dashboard using Bookmarks, you can use the search feature for searching for Bookmarks.
